Senior Warranty Engineer
Job Description SummaryEnsures that products being built and processes being used adhere to all standards and requirements. Monitors engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices. Participates in quality‑improvement initiatives and projects. Analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product. Recommends modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
Monitor product warranty performance and participate in product teardown analysis.
- Recommends quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
- Researches statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error rate; determining levels of confidence.
- Analyzes quality data from plant processes or customer indicators.
- Provides feedback to customers based on quality projects (e.g., warranty, etc.).
- Leads quality investigations and problem solving.
- Researches statistical reliability by using mean time before failure, Weibull 3‑parameter distribution, reliability modeling, and reliability demonstration tests.
- Develops quality improvement experiments by applying full and fractional factorial techniques.
- Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
- Analyzes warranty performance data and identify trends that may lead to root cause identification.
- Prepares statistical information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Contributes to quality engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- College bachelor’s degree required (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- An understanding of the basic tools for quality (APQP, Error Proofing, Gages, FMEA, etc.)
- High level of analytical ability / problem solving
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- High level of organization and planning skills
- Experience with Stellantis PRAS+, SAWRP+ and WIS/EWT systems
- Experience with Stellantis Global External Balanced Scorecard
