The Bridge Drafting and Geo-Spatial Engineering Assistant supports Alaska's Department of Transportation and Public Facilities by preparing bridge design plans using AutoCAD, assisting with bridge inspections, and processing bridge management data. Working under licensed engineers in Juneau with flexible hybrid arrangements, the role involves hands-on technical drafting, drone and sonar data collection, and travel throughout Alaska to remote bridge sites. This position offers career growth in Alaska's infrastructure development with a small, expert team of 25 bridge engineers.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or land surveying from ABET-accredited institution (or equivalent with EIT/LSIT certificate or FE/FS exam passage)
- Knowledge of design, structural engineering, and civil engineering principles
- Experience with AutoCAD and technical drafting
- Proficiency with database management systems and GIS
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work in remote field locations
