The Finance & Grant Analyst supports accurate and compliant financial reporting for grant‑funded programs by preparing labor allocations, identifying grant eligible expenses, and preparing grant level actuals vs. budget analyses. The position plays a key role in ensuring grant expenses are properly attributed, supported, and aligned with grant requirements, while partnering closely with Finance and Program teams to surface risks and improve clarity

Essential Functions
  • Support grant compliance for federal, state, and locally funded grant programs by preparing analyses, reconciliations, and documentation for Finance leadership review.
  • Prepare, manage, and update financial data including budget to actual comparison reports for internal review and funder reporting.
  • Identify and reconcile grant expenses through detailed review of payroll data, credit card activity, and general ledger detail.
  • Allocate personnel costs across grants using approved methodologies (e.g. payroll data, time studies, allocation models) and prepare allocation schedules for accounting review.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to clarify grant budgets, timelines, and financial requirements as needed.
  • Surface compliance questions proactively and flag miscoding, unclear expenses, or potential risks to Finance leadership.
  • Maintain organized support files for grant allocations, expense documentation, and reporting schedules.
  • Support budget development and forecasting processes by preparing analytical inputs and documentation.
  • Assist with audit and funder reviews by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to grant financial analysis and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field is preferred. Experience can substitute for post‑secondary education on a year‑for‑year basis.

Experience

2-4 years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent and related work experience years of experience in a finance or analytical role involving grants, reconciliations, payroll or cost data, and recurring reporting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Understand and comply with all Agency policies and procedures, including Child Protection Policies.
  • Understand and comply with all principles of Trauma‑Informed Care. Willingness to acquire basic concepts in care coordination for adolescents and young adults and incorporate into service‑provision.
  • Working knowledge of grant‑funded or restricted funding environments, including budget development and financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience working in Excel, including building and maintaining allocation schedules, reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Ability to analyze detailed financial data and identify discrepancies, trends, or compliance concerns.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to organize, document, and maintain accurate support files.
  • Ability to manage recurring deliverables, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and ask clarifying questions.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills, including the ability to surface risks and propose practical solutions.
  • Sound professional judgment and commitment to ethical financial practices.
  • Commitment to fostering a learning‑oriented and supportive work environment.
  • Proficient with standard computer operating systems. Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, online databases, and other programs and websites as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside normal business hours, holidays and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to attain a CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Possess a current and valid Driver’s License.
  • Acceptable driving record assessed through CHA’s Drivers Acceptability Matrix.
  • Pass federal, state, and local background check investigations.
