This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify. The Department of Revenue, Tax Division is recruiting for a College Intern in Anchorage or Juneau! Pay will be determined based on the location of the selected individual.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Hands-on research and analysis that directly informs Alaska's revenue outlook — including tax policy, state revenues, and key industries like energy.
• Spearhead a research/analysis project, culminating in a formal white paper and presentation at the end of the term.
• Work directly with the Alaska's official revenue forecast, as well as its fiscal and economic models.
• Contribute to real-world policy by analyzing legislation and proposed tax changes that could impact the state's financial future.
• Build valuable technical skills using enterprise-level database and accounting systems, advanced Excel tools, and statistical analysis software.

The Tax Division's mission is to collect taxes, inform stakeholders, and regulate charitable gaming, and the Economic Research Group supports that work by providing clear, meaningful analysis that helps Alaska make smart financial decisions. The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is based in the Atwood Building in downtown Anchorage. After your initial training, the option of hybrid telework may be explored to further support productivity and a strong work-life balance.
