Position SummaryThe Legislative Affairs Agency (LAA) is seeking an exceptional individual to serve as the Supply Administrative Assistant for the Alaska Legislature. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic personality who enjoys improving processes, creative problem‑solving, and sees opportunities where others might see obstructions.
ResponsibilitiesThe Supply Administrative Assistant performs a variety of advanced support tasks for the procurement, supply and mail room sections of the Legislative Affairs Agency under minimal supervision. The responsibilities include answering phones, greeting and assisting visitors, preparing reports and correspondence, providing information on personnel and administrative matters, ordering supplies, relaying work assignments to staff and maintaining filing systems.
The Supply Administrative Assistant also prepares and assists with small legislative procurements and creates and maintains delivery orders in a database.
During the legislative session, Agency staff may experience long work hours and critical deadlines requiring the ability to stay composed under pressure.
CompensationThis position will be filled at a range 14/15 DOE. The salary will be based on the successful applicant's qualifications.
Job DetailsThis is a fully exempt job class under AS 39.25.110(3). Positions in the Legislative Affairs Agency are required to be politically neutral.
The Supply Administrative Assistant position is a full-time benefits‑eligible position.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of relevant work experience.
Valid Alaska driver’s license with clean driving record.
