Job Description
Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water Recruiting for a Natural Resource Specialist 2/3 Flex in Anchorage. Open to Alaska Residents only.

Adjudicate and manage lease authorizations on public lands. Help shape the quality of life for present and future Alaskans by overseeing land use authorizations and management of state lands in alignment with public interest. Work in the Leasing Unit for the Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) as a collaborative, positive team member.
Mission And Values/CultureThe Department of Natural Resources’ mission is to develop, conserve, and maximize the use of Alaska's natural resources consistent with the public interest. DMLW’s mission is to provide appropriate use and management of Alaska's state-owned land and water.
Minimum Qualifications- Analytical Thinking/Problem-Solving: Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities.
- Decision-Making: Makes sound, well‑informed, objective decisions and commits to action even in uncertain situations.
- Legal, Government, and Jurisprudence: Knowledge of laws, regulations, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
- Oral Communication:
Expresses information clearly and convincingly to individuals or groups. - Writing:
Produces succinct, organized written information appropriate for the intended audience. - Environmental Science (for Specialist 3 level):
Knowledge of interdisciplinary concepts and methods for investigating the natural and physical environment.
