The nonpartisan Legislative Affairs Agency provides objective, accurate, and timely services and products to the Alaska Legislature and Alaskans to support and inform policy making, facilitate public access to the legislative process, and preserve the legislative institution.

Working in seamless partnership across sections, staff approach their tasks with professionalism, grace, and courtesy in supporting the challenging and vital work of the legislative branch.

Supply Administrative Assistant

The Legislative Affairs Agency (LAA) is seeking an exceptional individual to serve as the Supply Administrative Assistant for the Alaska Legislature. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic personality who enjoys improving processes, creative problem‑solving, and sees opportunities where others might see obstructions.

Responsibilities
  • Answer phones, greet and assist visitors.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Provide information on personnel and administrative matters.
  • Order supplies and maintain filing systems.
  • Relate work assignments to staff.
  • Assist with small legislative procurements.
  • Create and maintain delivery orders in a database.

During the legislative session, Agency staff may experience long work hours and critical deadlines requiring the ability to stay composed under pressure.

This position will be filled at a range 14/15 DOE. The salary will be based on the successful applicant's qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license with clean driving record.
