Job Description
The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation, and Parole is recruiting for a Criminal Justice Technician 1/2 position for the Fairbanks Probation Office located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
What You Will Be DoingThe successful candidate will aid probation staff in the monitoring of adult defendants reporting to the Department of Corrections. The position is responsible for maintaining records, greeting offenders, filing violation reports, working in law‑enforcement databases such as APSIN and ACOMS, and conducting urinalyses and portable breath tests. In this role your communication and people skills will be constantly challenged by the ever‑evolving criminal justice system.

The Working Environment You Can ExpectThe Fairbank Adult Probation Field Office is responsible for a geographic area extending from the Alaska Range to the Brooks Range, including the Tanana and Yukon River watersheds. The daily work environment includes interaction with defendants, victims, the court, and community partners to enhance effective supervision and community safety.
