Position: Public Assistance Programs Officer (Senior Policy Project Manager-PCN 068028 )

What You Will Be Doing

In this position, you will serve as the Division of Public Assistance's senior policy project manager and program policy advisor. You will lead complex policy development and implementation of initiatives affecting multiple public assistance programs and serve as a subject matter expert in federal and state program requirements. You will be responsible for managing policy and regulatory projects from concept through implementation, coordinating with program, operational, systems, legal, and executive leadership staff to ensure policy changes are implemented accurately, consistently, and in compliance with state and federal requirements.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following position-specific competencies in addition to the minimum qualifications listed below:

  • Compliance:
    Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • Project Management:
    Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
  • Research:
    Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry, including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, and the reporting of results.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Budgetary and fiscal practices related to public assistance programs; and
    • Public relations, personnel administration, and office practices, methods and procedures
  • Equivalent to those typically gained by professional experience in the administration of public assistance programs; interpretation of eligibility requirements; or administration of an automated medical payment system.

    Juneau and other Alaska locations. Indicate location(s) you are willing to be considered for. One position to be filled.
