Position: Eligibility Technician 2 (PCN 068520M - Long Term Care Unit)

Position Summary

Eligibility Technician 2 (ET2) in the Long‑Term Care Unit of the Division of Public Assistance (DPA). Responsible for evaluating program eligibility, making independent eligibility decisions, and maintaining case records under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct eligibility determinations for federal and state public assistance programs.
  • Maintain accurate case records and comply with mandatory time frames.
  • Apply program policies to make complex eligibility decisions.
  • Collaborate with team to improve service delivery.
Qualifications
  • One year of entry‑level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 in the State of Alaska or comparable experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and/or state public assistance regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Attention to detail, strong computer skills, problem‑solving, and oral/written communication.
  • Post‑secondary education in relevant fields (sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting) may substitute for experience (minimum 2.67 semester hours).
Work Location

Positions are located in Anchorage and Juneau, with possibility of assignment to Fairbanks, Kenai, Ketchikan, or Wasilla based on qualified candidate.
