Court Services Officer

The Department of Public Safety (DPS), Division of Alaska State Troopers, is currently recruiting to fill Court Services Officers (CSO) positions around the state.

• Anchorage: $38.30 per hour
• Juneau: $40.22 per hour
• Bethel: $57.45 per hour
• Dillingham: $52.47 per hour

Effective July 1, 2026, the wage for this position increased by 4%.

Qualified applicants will attend the Department of Public Safety Training academy beginning January 2027 and July 2027.

• Conduct duties for the Commissioner of Public Safety under AS , including providing physical security of courtrooms, chambers, and other court spaces and grounds of court facilities; coordinating and providing prisoner transport; serving court writs; and providing protective details and security for judicial officers.
• Provide prisoner transportation, process service, court security, and judicial protection to the court system.

• Juneau: based at the Juneau Courthouse Judicial Services Office; region‑wide paper service, evictions, prisoner transports, and courtroom security across Southeast Alaska.
• Anchorage: based in downtown Anchorage; local and regional prisoner transports, physical site security, writ services, and judiciary protection.
• Bethel: based at Bethel State Trooper Post with frequent work at Bethel Courthouse.
• Dillingham: based at Dillingham State Trooper Post; paper service, courtroom security, prisoner transports, and aviation transports to local villages.

• 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Converse in English (written and spoken).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Not disqualified from any portion of a prior formal background investigation within the last twelve months.
• Must accept employment within the United States.
• Must be physically fit to perform job duties.
• No felony convictions and limited misdemeanor convictions (see detailed list).

• Not convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor that involved serious injury, domestic violence, dishonesty, or more than two misdemeanors in the last ten years.
• No history of use of controlled substances in the last 12 months.
