Job Overview
Adult Probation Officer 1/2B – Anchorage Probation Office, Anchorage, Alaska. The role combines field and office responsibilities to supervise felons in the community, ensuring compliance with court orders and supporting rehabilitation.
Responsibilities- Conduct home visits, community compliance checks, and collaborate with law enforcement and community partners.
- Perform office-based supervision tasks including maintaining accurate records, preparing reports for Courts and the Alaska Board of Parole, and testifying at court and parole hearings.
- Collaborate with local justice partners and community organizations across Alaska.
- Participate in training and orientation to meet certification requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
- Or four years of paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, corrections, criminal investigation, public safety, or law enforcement.
- Or any combination of post‑secondary education and experience (2.67 semester hours = one month of experience).
- All applicants must be 21 years or older, a U.S. citizen or national, possess a high‑school diploma or GED, and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license.

The position is based at the Anchorage Probation Office near midtown Anchorage, serving the communities of Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, and Girdwood.
