What You Will Be DoingThe incumbent serves as part of the Statewide Payroll Production team and assists with maintaining compliance with state and Federal statutes regarding employment. The incumbent serves as the supervisor for the technical team, providing oversight and guidance to a team of three technical staff performing work related to deductions and supplemental pay creation. This position certifies supplemental check requests and completes daily bank reconciliation to ensure funds are available for payment.

One year of journey technical level human resource experience. This is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
Substitution:
One year of technical level dispatching experience as an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska.
OR
Two years of postsecondary education (64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours equal 2 years) from an accredited college or university in any field.
OR
Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and human resources experience at the journey technical level. This experience is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
OR
Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and technical level dispatching experience. This experience is equivalent to an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska.
