is recruiting for a Natural Resource Manager 1 in Anchorage or Juneau.

This position serves as the working supervisor for a team of adjudicators responsible for authorizing the sale of State-owned land through the DNR’s statewide competitive land sale offerings administered by the Land Conveyance Section (LCS). This includes managing the day-to-day operations of the Competitive Unit and serving as the lead or point of contact for difficult and/or potential projects.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) mission is to “develop, conserve and maximize the use of Alaska's natural resources consistent with the public interest.” The DMLW mission is "to provide for the appropriate use and management of Alaska's state-owned land and water, aiming toward maximum use consistent with the public interest.” Within DMLW, the Land Conveyance Section helps fulfill this mission by providing the opportunity for private land ownership through a variety of unique land sale programs and creating opportunities to get Alaska’s Lands into Alaskans’ hands.

The Land Conveyance Section is a highly collaborative team where team members regularly share ideas and solutions, and work through challenges together. The project development staff work together and with other staff to provide a service that is meaningful to Alaska residents and supports the Alaska economy. The work we do is challenging, and through this position you will be introduced to many facets of land and resource management and development.

The office environment is friendly, relaxed, and highly supportive. You may have the option of flexible work schedules and telework.

This position is being recruited in Anchorage and Juneau. Regardless of location, the incumbent will work in a private cubicle in an office setting. Both locations offer free parking and easy access to nearby shops and restaurants.

The daily routine for this position includes collaborating on projects in all forms, making decisions, discussing policy, and communicating clearly and consistently with team members and supervisors. Core office hours are 8:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m., with an 8-hour daily work schedule, Monday through Friday; however, work schedules are flexible. Although this position is primarily office-based, there will be occasional opportunities to travel to conduct and assist with field inspections, public meetings, and/or training.
