Job Description

This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

This position ensures the successful processing of incoming retirement contributions and other related data submitted by over 150 employers from around the State of Alaska. You will lead a staff of 4 technicians in all functions of the section including payroll processing and certification. This position provides training to staff and employers around the State of Alaska. The Division is currently in the process of building a state of art retirement system which includes an employer reporting portal.

You will work closely with the employers to assist with ensuring the new system is successful.

The Division of Retirement and Benefits administers the State of Alaska and political subdivision retirement and benefits plans. The Division of Retirement and Benefits supports the needs of retirement plan members and retirees by providing customer services to active members and benefit recipients. We achieve organizational excellence by focusing on the customer to deliver exceptional services using effective and efficient processes.

The mission of the Finance section/Accounting unit is to provide timely and accurate financial reporting for the plans administered by the division.

After a 1 year probationary period, there is the option for a hybrid telework agreement. If selected for the position, applicant must be willing to reside within commuting distance of the City and Borough of Juneau.

This position is located on the 6th floor of the State Office Building in beautiful downtown Juneau. The office hours are typically between 7:30 and 4:00 or 8:00 and 4:30 Monday through Friday.
