Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Must-Have:
High school diploma or equivalent required

Description:

This position functions within the Outpatient Department to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting.
Responsible for the overall operation of the Clinic.
Maintains skills, competencies, certifications, and participates in in-services and educational programs as assigned.
Completes all mandatory training and attends staff meetings.
Adheres to infection control policies and procedures.
Maintains a clean and safe working environment including adequate supplies and upkeep of unit and equipment.
Reports any defective or missing equipment and safety hazards.
Refers unresolved problems with patients, coworkers, or visitors to department management for resolution.
Addresses employee concerns consistent with policy.
Provide clinical services, including working with providers and staff to ensure quality care.
Ensure efficient utilization of resources and compliance with standards.
Provide leadership and direction to the clinic staff.
Maintain medication inventory and supplies.
Ensure quality control checks are done with Point of Care tests.
Document all care and services provided clearly and correctly.
Assist providers and staff as needed, anticipating their needs for quality patient care.
Communicate effectively with other departments to be a resource for patients and staff.
Knowledge of nursing processes and ability to apply this in the working environment is essential.
Strong customer service skills and understanding of safety and infection control principles are required.
Skills in completing assessments and specimen collection are necessary.
Ability to use computers and medical equipment.
Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
Must be able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork abilities and willingness to teach when appropriate are essential.
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are necessary to maintain good working relationships.
Must be willing to ask for help when encountering challenging situations.
Regular requirements include talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, and reaching with hands and arms.
Occasional requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
