Assisted Living Aide / Certified Nurse Aide 1 – a multilevel class position within the Alaska Veterans & Pioneers Home. The Vacancy has been extended.

Wage ranges per hour:
- $19.19 – Assisted Living Aide
- $21.69 – Certified Nurse Aide 1

- Provide high‑quality personal care to assisted‑living residents in a supportive manner.
- Aid residents with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting between bed, wheelchair, tub, lift, and walkers or canes.
- Assist in delivering programs that promote physical well‑being and relationships through meaningful social interaction.
- Work under the direction of the registered nurse as part of the direct‑care staff.
- Maintain a safe environment for up to 79 residents.

Working EnvironmentThe position is located in the Palmer Veterans and Pioneer Home, 250 E Fireweed Ave, Palmer, Alaska. The facility is 24‑hour, an Eden Alternative environment with contact to plants, flowers, and pets. The community is near parks, the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountain Ranges, and Knik Glacier, and within walking distance of local shops and restaurants.

- Physical Strength and Agility – capable of bending, lifting, climbing, standing, and walking for long periods; can perform moderately heavy labor.

- Interpersonal Skills – treats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect, responding appropriately to diverse needs.
- For the Certified Nurse Aide 1 level – eligibility to practice as a Certified Nurse Aide in Alaska; a current certificate or proof of eligibility is required prior to appointment.
Application Requirements
- Two professional references and three character references with current contact information.
- Submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening.
- Provide evidence of active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) clearance dated within the last 12 months.
- Present a current CPR and First Aid certificate, if available.
