Job SummaryThe Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) shall provide selected physical therapy interventions only under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist. The PTA uses exercise and modalities in the treatment of pain and movement disorders to help restore normal movement and function in accordance with the physician's referral.
Responsibilities- Support Bartlett Regional Hospital's commitment to high standards of ethics and professional conduct.
- Follow professional standards of APTA; provide services in compliance with state and federal laws governing hospital operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, employee, computer or other information.
- Work as a team member to meet patient and departmental needs.
The Physical Therapy Assistant may be asked to be trained in other settings or skillsets including but not limited to: inpatient acute care, outpatient adult care, outpatient pediatrics, wound care, Home Health Care, and skilled nursing.
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
Graduate of an APTA approved School for Physical Therapy Assistants. Completes annual educational requirements. - Preferred Experience:
One (1) year of PTA experience. Experience with diverse populations including inpatient acute care, outpatient adult care, outpatient pediatrics, wound care, Home Health Care, and skilled nursing. - License:
Current State of Alaska Physical Therapy Assistant License - Other:
Valid driver’s license, current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation if assigned to Home Care Services. - Certifications:
Refer to Mandatory Education Policy and complete the required items within the given timeframe.
Internal/External Hires
:
Pay rate details based on applicable personnel rules or union contract terms; external hires start at $31.75 per hour with step placement based on experience.
