Position Overview
We provide evidence‑based, culturally relevant outpatient behavioral health treatment at SEARHC across Haines, Klawock, Petersburg and Wrangell. Clinicians will deliver individual, group, family, and marital therapy, conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, care coordination and crisis intervention. They provide after‑hours crisis services on a shared rotating basis.
Key Responsibilities- Implement culturally relevant screening, assessment, diagnosing, treatment planning, and evidence‑based therapy (individual, group, family).
- Utilize Trauma‑Informed Care in all interactions.
- Integrate mental health and substance use disorder interventions based on assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and reviews.
- Provide care coordination, advocacy, motivational interviewing, and psycho‑educational skill development.
- Maximize access to care, improve coping strategies and self‑care skills.
- Communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
- Provide crisis intervention services within normal clinic hours and after‑hours on rotation.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record per SEARHC policy and HIPAA.
- Meet productivity expectations and respond to coding/audit requests promptly.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Complete required provider enrollment and licensing duties, and maintain licensure.
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related discipline.
- License as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred; unlicensed clinicians will receive supervision.
- Licence to practice in Alaska; valid State of Alaska driver’s license or can obtain within 6 months.
- Alaska State Chemical Dependency Counselor I or MAC certificate or equivalent preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire, maintained thereafter.
- Clinical Competency assessment at 3 months and every 3 years thereafter.
- Experience with behavioral health assessment and diagnoses for all ages.
- Knowledge of diagnostic criteria, evidence‑based methods, HIPAA, CARF, Joint Commission, HRSA, State Medicaid, and federal regulations.
