Human Resource Technician 3 Payroll

The Department of Corrections, Division of Administration & Support, is recruiting for a Human Resource Technician 3 Payroll position located in Juneau, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing:

Under general direction, Human Resource Technician 3 oversees Statewide Payroll Services staff, develops and delivers technical payroll training, and performs advanced technical work completing, processing, and auditing of personnel and payroll documents.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

Our office is in the Douglas Island Building with ample parking and a short walk to Savikko Park, Sandy Beach, and the Treadwell Historic Trail.

Payroll requires attention to detail and a key part of the workday involves data entry, verifying information, and reconciling figures; the work environment is digitally focused and cyclical leading up to paydays every two weeks.

One year of journey technical level human resource experience. This is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution:

One year of technical level dispatching experience as an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska.

OR

Two years of postsecondary education (64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours equal 2 years) from an accredited college or university in any field.

OR

Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and human resources experience at the journey technical level. This experience is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

OR

Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and technical level dispatching experience. This experience is equivalent to an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska.
