AI Governance Analyst

Contract – Remote – Anywhere – Business Analysis – Retail

We are a leading off‑price retailer looking for an AI Governance Analyst to manage risk across AI systems and models. The role funds an intake and assessment process, maintains risk inventories, and provides governance artifacts, dashboards, and training for responsible AI use.

Rate: $50‑$55/hr (W2)

Responsibilities
  • Process AI use cases through intake, review, assessment, socialization, and closure.
  • Maintain inventories of AI systems, models, datasets, and third‑party AI tools with risk tiers and approval statuses.
  • Highlight risks associated with use cases, inform business owners, and support risk mitigation.
  • Lead AI risk assessments covering purpose, model risk, bias, transparency, accuracy, and human oversight.
  • Run the AI intake process including triage, scoping, and routing with Legal, Privacy, Cybersecurity, IT, and Business stakeholders.
  • Develop governance templates and artifacts such as risk profiles, decision logs, RACI, playbooks, and assessment checklists.
  • Produce dashboards and executive reports for leadership, audit, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Facilitate periodic reviews and recertification of AI systems and coordinate post‑deployment monitoring and incident response workflows.
  • Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to align governance requirements with delivery milestones.
  • Provide training and guidance on responsible AI practices, policy updates, and process changes.
Experience Requirements
  • Work during Eastern Standard Time hours.
  • Knowledge of AI and ML concepts including data pipelines, model lifecycle, performance monitoring, bias, and explainability.
  • Experience operationalizing governance processes such as intake, control testing, evidence collection, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Familiarity with governance artifacts (model cards, datasheets, risk registers) – preferred.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI practices such as human oversight, safety, and transparency, plus exposure to MLOps – preferred.
  • Exposure to enterprise governance platforms (e.g., Service Now, SharePoint, Power Automate/Power Apps, Confluence/Jira) and data catalog/lineage tools – preferred.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data/Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk/Compliance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
