Our Organization, Mission, and CultureThe Division of Juvenile Justice is committed to providing young people throughout Alaska with probation, detention, and treatment services. With six youth facilities and 13 probation offices across the state, the division ensures these services are administered with the utmost care and oversight, focusing on safety and quality assurance at a statewide level.
What You Will Be Doing- Coordinate the design, update, enhancement, testing, and training of DJJ staff on all DJJ applications.
- Act as subject matter expert for JOMIS and Incident Tracker applications, working closely with the Data Processing Manager, user community, software vendor, JOMIS advisory group, and management.
- Manage JOMIS Advisory Group membership, set meeting agendas, record minutes, manage enhancements, and track the budget.
- Communicate via email, telephone, in person, computer meetings, and written guidance regarding system administration, data quality and accuracy, standardization, and adherence to division policies.
- Provide application information and administrative assistance to the Data Processing Manager and Data Team.
- Create and update user accounts and access privileges for DJJ applications, and coordinate access for justice partners.
- Respond to JOMIS Help Desk requests promptly.
DJJ implements juvenile justice practices through community supervision, secure facilities, programming, and administration. The Data Team plays a critical role in gathering and analyzing data to support strategic planning and data‑driven decision‑making.
The Working Environment You Can ExpectAs a member of DJJ’s State Office, you will join a team of 28 staff dedicated to improving services and implementing evidence‑based programs. The office is located on the 7th floor of the Court Plaza on Main Street in downtown Juneau; the position is not a remote or teleworking role.

Equivalent experience may be gained through training in information technology, business analytics, business information systems, operations management, or similar fields, and via diagnosing, troubleshooting, or maintaining IT systems or assisting in transitions to new technology.
