Business Analyst – Information Technology Department

Under general direction of the Information Technology Director, the Business Analyst serves as the vital link between CBJ’s information technology and business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing, and deployment tasks of all software and systems product features. The analyst supports departments in documenting and improving work processes to identify efficient and sustainable business models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with departments to identify, analyze, and document business needs, objectives, workflows, business processes, user requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Develop and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, configuration documentation, and workflow processes to ensure business systems support organizational goals, policies, and operational needs.
  • Partner with vendors, IT staff, and stakeholders during system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure business requirements are clearly communicated, understood, and successfully implemented.
  • Evaluate existing business processes and system configurations, recommend improvements, and develop roadmaps that support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and future business needs.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Define reporting, monitoring, and alerting requirements that support reliable system performance and informed decision-making.
  • Test system changes, upgrades, and new functionality to verify performance, validate business requirements, and identify issues before implementation.
  • Provide user-level troubleshooting, document technical issues, and serve as liaison between business users and IT to facilitate timely issue resolution.
  • Analyze recurring technical issues and user feedback, recommend system and process improvements that enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing, end‑user training, and communication to support successful implementation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, programmers, managers, and vendors to monitor system performance, maintain quality standards, and improve system reliability.
  • Design, document, implement, and maintain standardized business processes that incorporate organizational policies, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of business process documentation and regularly review and update it to reflect organizational and system changes.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop, refine, and promote consistent business processes across departments.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with vendors, IT staff, department leaders, and other stakeholders to support effective business system integrations.
  • Coordinate or lead system‑related projects and initiatives by aligning project objectives, facilitating communication, and supporting successful implementation.
  • Foster collaboration among business units, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to optimize business systems and ensure effective communication and ongoing operational success.
Minimum Qualifications

Six (6) years of any combination of post‑secondary education and progressively responsible experience performing business and systems analysis, research, reporting, process improvement, and/or business/financial/technical operations.

Post‑Secondary Credit
  • Courses will be credited based on 3 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month of experience.
