Heavy Duty Mechanic, Automotive-Advanced-Journey/Lead

State Equipment Fleet (SEF) under the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) seeks a mechanic to maintain heavy‑ and light‑duty equipment, support road, airport, and other infrastructure projects across Alaska.

• Professionally maintain heavy‑ and light‑duty equipment and vehicles used for secondary road construction and maintenance, rural airports, and agency transport.
• Maintain and repair systems including transmissions, drive trains, suspension, engine and emissions, fuel injection, hydraulic, brake, air, and electrical systems for light and heavy‑duty equipment.

• Knowledge of mechanical systems and tools; ability to repair and maintain motor and vehicle components.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions and unexpected obstacles.
• Strong self‑management; initiative, effort, and commitment to complete assignments on time.
• Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required; conditional hire possible if obtained within 120 days of hire.
