The CJIS Administrator‑2 provides statewide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Program within the Division of Statewide Services. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity, security, and efficiency of Alaska’s criminal history record, fingerprint identification, and justice information systems—directly supporting law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies statewide. By overseeing these essential systems, the CJIS Administrator‑2 advances public safety, ensures compliance with state and federal laws, and enables effective data sharing, policy development, and operational excellence in alignment with the department’s mission.

The Working Conditions You Can Expect

This position is based at the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Headquarters, located at 5700 East Tudor Road in East Anchorage. The facility offers ample on‑site parking and is directly served by public transportation. Scenic paved trails and views of the Chugach Mountains surround the building. Your office is co‑located with the Deputy CJIS Administrator and other members of the management team.

Occasional out‑of‑state travel is required to attend national conferences representing Alaska.
