Summary

This position provides senior-level strategic support, managing high-priority projects across housing and economic development programs. This role blends executive diplomacy with project management, tracking milestones for tribal community investments and housing initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses advanced professional writing skills to navigate relationships with government officials, clients, and partners, while maintaining a deep understanding of tribal sovereignty and community-driven asset building.

This position has no direct reports and works independently under the guidance of the President & CEO.

Authority

Works independently and with all THRHA staff and vendors. Reports directly to President & CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Strategic Project Management: Leads and monitors cross-departmental initiatives, ensuring housing developments and financial programs hit critical milestones.
  • Special Project Reporting: Develops comprehensive reports as needed for the implementation of special projects and provides other operational reports as requested by leadership.
  • High-Level Professional Writing: Drafts formal, high-stakes correspondence to Congressional representatives, clients, and business partners.
  • Regulatory Advocacy: Prepares and drafts public comments for submission to the Federal Register regarding policies impacting tribal housing and CDFI operations.
  • Meeting & Board Coordination: Directs agendas, logistics, and follow-up actions for Board of Commissioners and CDFI advisory board meetings.
  • Confidentiality & Governance: Manages sensitive files, legal documents, and tribal resolutions with absolute discretion.
  • Calendar Management: Coordinates and optimizes the president's schedule, aligning daily engagements with institutional priorities and managing travel itineraries.
  • Communication & Liaison: Serves as the first point of contact for internal and external constituencies; screens emails, drafts professional correspondence, and acts as a proxy when needed.
Required knowledge, Abilities and Skills
  • Advanced Writing

    Skills:

    Demonstrated ability to write professional, persuasive, and compliance-grade content for federal registries, government officials, and external partners.
  • Project Management Tools:
    Proficiency in project management software (such as Sales Force,  and Microsoft 365).
  • Tribal Housing Knowledge:
    Familiarity with Native American housing programs, NAHASDA, and CDFI frameworks.
  • Soft Skills:

    Outstanding strategic thinking, respectful communication within Indigenous communities, and sharp analytical skills.
  • Ability to design business processes focused on people, process, and systems and the interaction of the three.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of senior administrative or project management experience, preferably within a tribal government, housing authority, or Native CDFI.
