Facilities Manager at CBRE Juneau, AK

About the Role

As a CBRE Facilities Manager, you will manage a team responsible for overseeing building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of small to medium sized buildings. This role is part of the Facilities Management functional area, which focuses on all aspects of the operations of a set of assets, providing support to the Property Managers regarding all repairs and investment plans.

• Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor their training and development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
• Schedule and manage the team's daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross‑train staff, setting and tracking staff and department deadlines.
• Coordinate, oversee, and/or lead repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors, and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial work.
• Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
• Lead and prepare capital projects and operating budget and variance reports.
• Perform facility inspections and quality assurance following local, state, and federal regulations, and suggest operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
• Manage environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
• Own vendor relationships and invoicing procedures, review price quotes for procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
• Conduct process and procedure training on maintenance, repairs, and safety best practices.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day‑to‑day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3‑5 years of relevant experience; in lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. A valid driver’s license and facility management certification are preferred.
• Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
• Ability to convey sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, set performance expectations, and handle problems.
• Leadership skills to motivate a team and impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
• Advanced math skills, including the ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial‑related calculations.
