The Division of Banking and Securities is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 1 located in Juneau!

The Program Coordinator 1 is responsible for overseeing the daily and ongoing operations of all licensing and registration programs for the Division of Banking and Securities (DBS) and supervises a team of five on the licensing team.

The Program Coordinator 1 coordinates and carries out program activities and functions and develops effective and efficient licensing policies and is supervised by the Division Operations Manager.

Assists with developing and implementing program procedures and practices and the methods and standards to guide and train program staff.

This position is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and overseeing the daily operations of the state-wide financial licensing and registration programs, each with its own unique licensing and registration requirements. This includes banking, securities, money transmission, mortgage, and small loan companies.

As necessary, work with division management team and supervisor on special projects and assignments supporting legislation, statewide initiatives, development of division resources, and other needs.

The position requires extensive technical knowledge regarding complex subject matters and must display familiarity with federal laws, state statutes, regulations, policy, and program procedures.

The Program Coordinator 1 is responsible for handling the section’s initial investigations of unlicensed activity and collaborates with the Division Operations Manager, Chief of Enforcement and/or Director on actions to be taken. This includes research and detailed explanations to justify a request to deny or abandon a license application. This position will draft investigation reports, take action to deny or abandon a license application with management approval, answer legal questions, request disciplinary actions, offer guidance on other division cases, multi-state cases, testify in administrative hearings, and work with other state and federal agencies to bring cases to a successful conclusion and support compliance.
