This position is currently located in Juneau. The position may be in Anchorage or Juneau, depending upon the location of the most qualified candidate. What you will be doing:
Your role as a Public Information Officer 3 will involve developing, editing, and ensuring the clarity and alignment of diverse communication materials across print, digital, and broadcast platforms. You will collaborate with colleagues to execute marketing campaigns, social media initiatives, and educational programs, while also capturing high-quality photos and videos to enhance visual storytelling and support departmental objectives. Additionally, you'll manage and curate content for social media platforms, engaging with the community and implementing strategies to amplify outreach efforts effectively.

This position is part of the Communications Team, the centralized group of communications professionals that supports our department, and is based in or around Anchorage or Juneau. We are currently working hybrid schedules from home or in an office setting, as appropriate. Because our department is so broad in scope and one of the largest State of Alaska departments, the work is highly varied in both content and the audiences we strive to reach with our communications efforts.
