Trauma Nurse Coordinator - Adult or Pediatric

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager, this position assesses, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the standards and delivery of care provided to the trauma patient. Evaluation of care begins in the pre‑hospital phase, through hospitalization, disposition, and reintegration into the community. Performance and quality initiatives are derived from regional and national trauma standards and the institution’s patient care delivery. The role focuses on either pediatric (under 17) or adult (18+) trauma patients.

• Assess, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the standards and delivery of care for trauma patients from pre‑hospital through discharge.
• Develop and implement performance and quality initiatives based on regional, national trauma standards and institutional targets.
• Ensure compliance with pediatric or adult trauma care specifications, including safety, documentation, and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate reintegration into community and follow‑up care.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Alaska Registered Nurse license upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
• TNCC, ATCN, and Stop the Bleed Instructor certification within 1 year of hire.
• Professional nursing certification in one of the following within 1 year of hire:
  Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN),
  Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN),
  Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN),
  Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN),
  Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN).
• At least 4 years of recent nursing experience in Emergency, Critical Care, and/or Pediatric nursing.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Trauma Registry and trauma care systems at community, state, or national level.

• Pay Range: $44.16 – $77.58 (base) plus additional compensation such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
