• RN 1: starts at $38.90 per hour
• RN 2: starts at $44.09 per hour
• RN 3: starts at $46.29 per hour

Internal Hires:
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable Personnel Rules or Union Contract Terms. External Hires:
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.

The Registered Nurse 1 provides basic nursing care in predictable situations to a limited number of patients under direct supervision. This level is intended for new graduates or nurses returning to practice after a prolonged absence. Practice is guided by established rules, competencies, and organizational policies. This position is the entry-level of the Registered Nursing classification series, and staff are expected to grow in skills and independence.

The Registered Nurse 2 independently plans and implements nursing care using standards and knowledge gained through education and experience. RN2 nurses require minimal supervision and begin assuming leadership responsibilities.

The Registered Nurse 3 independently plans and implements nursing care using standards and knowledge gained through education and experience. RN3 nurses require little-to-no supervision and assume leadership responsibilities. RN3’s have mastered the varied competencies of clinical nursing and maintain competency in at least one primary float area.

  Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Experience:
  
  One (1) year of current nursing care experience.
• Substitutions:
  Six (6) months nursing at BRH.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  Previous healthcare experience.
• License:
  Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certification(s):
  Reference mandatory education for clinical and support staff policy for most current certification requirements.

  Three (3) years of current nursing care experience.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  Previous experience in designated care area.
