Provide high‑quality care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner.

This on‑call position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff at the Juneau Pioneer Home and plays a vital role in providing person‑centered care and support in a safe environment for up to forty‑nine (49) elders.

Provide clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. Focus on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health‑care teams, and promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

Job located at Juneau Pioneer Home, 4675 Glacier Hwy., Juneau, Alaska. The home is near Twin Lakes with views of surrounding mountains, Gastineau Channel, and wildlife such as brown bears, eagles, ravens, blue herons, kingfishers, porcupines, deer, and squirrels.

• Oral and Written Communication:

  Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases, and deformities, including preventive health‑care measures.

  Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods, performing moderately heavy labor.

Eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.

• Position supports a 24‑hour Pioneer Home facility.
• The Pioneer Home follows an Eden Alternative model, including contact with plants, flowers, and pets such as cats, dogs, fish, and birds.
• Employees undergo periodic screening for tuberculosis, criminal history, and COVID‑19 as required.

Applicants with a temporary permit issued under 12 AAC 44.320 may report for duty; however the job offer will remain conditional for up to six months pending the attestation of licensure during the initial probationary period.
