Overview

This position is open to All Applicants. The mission of the Division of the Alaska Pioneer Homes is: "Providing elder Alaskans a home and community, celebrating life through its final breath." This on-call position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to forty-nine (49) elder residents.

Provide high quality care to assisted living home residents in the Juneau Pioneer Home in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

This position is part of an amazing team with opportunities to make a positive impact on the quality of life for Alaskan elders by providing excellent person-centered loving care and services. The working environment is in the Juneau Pioneer Home, an assisted living home at 4675 Glacier Hwy, Juneau, Alaska, located near Twin Lakes with views of mountains, Gastineau Channel, and local wildlife.

The home is Eden Alternative facility where interaction with plants, flowers, and pets such as cats, dogs, fish, and birds is common.

• Medicine and Dentistry:
  Knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases, and deformities, including preventive health-care measures.

• Physical Strength and Agility:

NURSE 2:
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska; AND EITHER:
Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Nurse I with the State of Alaska; OR One year of entry level experience as a Registered Nurse. Examples include prior service as a Nurse I, Corrections Nurse I, or Psychiatric Nurse I with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer. Substitution:
