Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes through effective assessment, planning, and intervention. Collaborates with healthcare providers and staff to deliver efficient and safe care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering clinical services by coordinating with providers, clinic staff, and management to ensure quality care and resource utilization.
- Supervise and lead clinic staff, including front desk operations and patient care activities, to maintain smooth workflow.
- Maintain medication inventory and supplies, tracking items not on the Warehouse PAR system.
- Perform quality control checks for Point of Care tests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly, adhering to professional and organizational standards.
- Oversee clinic opening and closing procedures, ensuring operational readiness and safety.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to facilitate seamless patient care and communication.
- Assist providers and staff as needed, anticipating needs to improve efficiency and patient experience.
- Ensure adherence to infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
- Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and professional development activities.
Qualifications: - Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state; application for Alaska licensure required prior to start for direct hire.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or equivalent; clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every three years.
- High Risk Competency certification required within 3 months of hire and annually.
- One year of acute care experience preferred, with knowledge of nursing processes and assessment skills.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and multi-tasking abilities; team-oriented with problem-solving skills.
