This position functions within the Urgent Care setting providing appropriate and timely nursing care for patients of all ages, promoting quality, evidenced based, and cost-effective health care outcomes.
This position works within a nursing team consisting of RN's, LPN's, and Clinical Assistants. The RN will provide full assessments, prioritize patient needs/patient flow, perform skills and coordinate care as ordered by providers. In addition, the RN is expected to use critical thinking to work within standing orders to expedite care and patient services. As necessary, the RN may work in other nursing roles, so that departmental functions are covered daily.
Perform duties in a responsible, professional, and compassionate manner to provide excellent patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and qualified to take the NCLEX.
- Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required. Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before the start date. Agency staff must have an active Alaska license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
- High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and every year
- 2 years of general nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in an ambulatory or urgent care clinic
