Overview

Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the duties described below.

Hiring for this position is contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Quality Control Inspector experience will be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years directly related Quality Control Inspector experience with knowledge of construction and oil & gas industry.
  • Current AWS CWI - Certified Welding Inspector certification.
  • Current NACE CIP 1 Coating Inspector certification.
  • Driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and climb or balance. Steel-toed boots are required on the job.

Travel may require an employee or contractor to pass a TSA security checkpoint. If the employee or contractor does not have valid identification, they will not be able to travel until valid identification is obtained and verified. For this reason all employees and contractors must have valid identification when traveling to and from the mine.
