The Research Analyst 3 designs and leads complex research projects on Alaska's correctional population, builds and queries SQL databases, and develops analyses in Python to shape Department policy and resource decisions. The position safeguards data integrity in the Alaska Corrections Offender Management System and leads the Research Analyst 2 while producing flagship products including annual offender profiles and agency performance measures.
This role is located in Juneau, Alaska and is hybrid-eligible.
- Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL) and Python programming (Jupyter notebooks, Quarto, VS Code)
- Experience with statistical analysis, research design, and data quality assurance methods
- Knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, and modern analytical techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential offender data responsibly
- Experience with investigative research or statistical analysis in a professional setting
