Overview
Accountant 2 (PCN 063707) – Office of Children’s Services, Department of Family and Community Services, fully‑time position located in Juneau, Alaska. This role is open to Alaska Residents only.
Role ResponsibilitiesUnder direction of the Administrative Operations Manager, provide professional accounting, administrative, and budgetary support. Maintain the division’s financial projections and conduct fiscal oversight. Monitor and review expenditure and revenue information to ensure proper spending and reporting procedures.

Key Competencies- Accounting Operations: Knowledge of general ledger, subsidiary accounts and reconciliation, including accounts receivable, payable and disbursing officer accountability.
- Analytical Thinking / Problem Solving: Use systematic approach to address problems, opportunities or manage situations.
- Adaptability: Gather relevant information, apply critical thinking to address multiple demands in changing environment.

Skills:
Proficient with computers, software, databases and automated systems. - Oral and Written Communication: Effectively present information considering audience and content.
Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the competencies listed above.
Equivalent to preparatory post‑secondary education or progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting or financial management.
Special NoteAll positions require valid successful completion of a background investigation including fingerprinting and a criminal record check. A cover letter is not required.
Additional Required Information- A copy of academic transcripts if necessary to meet minimum qualifications.
