Job InformationFive (5) Sales Associates needed for temporary full‑time employment at 211 Broadway, Skagway, Alaska 99840. Workers are needed to begin work on April 1, 2025, and work until September 30, 2025.
Job Duties- Prepare store, inventory, and equipment for workday.
- Open and close the store.
- Assist customers with sales inquiries.
- Utilize product knowledge and sales methods to successfully close deals.
- Maintain inventory by ensuring that all inventory quantity of goods matches store records, that inventory is stored in a proper manner to avoid damage, and that jewelry is cleaned on a frequent basis.
- Six months of experience as a Sales Associate, Salesperson or a similar occupation at a store catering to cruise ship passengers and/or tourists.
- Understanding of jewelry.
- Knowledge of cruise marketing.
Job is 40 hours per week with overtime available up to 20 hours per week depending on ship schedules. Will require alternate work days and shifts. Up to six days per week and shifts will vary from 6am to 11pm.
Wage and OvertimeWorkers will be paid an hourly wage of at least $18.47 per hour for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Overtime will be paid at least $27.71 per hour and may be up to 20 hours per week depending on ship schedules.
TrainingSales Associates will be trained for two full weeks on store operation procedures, brand training, and standard training required to fulfill their role.
Payment ScheduleWorkers will be paid bi‑weekly on every other Friday by direct deposit or check. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due.
HousingFree housing will be provided by the employer but is optional. If the employees choose employer‑provided housing, it is free of charge, so there are no associated deductions from pay.
Transportation and SubsistenceFree daily transportation to and from the worksite will be provided by the employer. If the workers complete 50% of the work contract period, the employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work.
Toolsand Supplies
The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job.
GuaranteeThe employer guarantees to offer hours equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 12‑week period of the total employment period.
