Overview
As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, guests at the Goldbelt Tram are invited to soar to new heights in scenic adventure aboard Juneau's top attraction. We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture.
This position is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska. Applicants should either live in Juneau or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
Pay and BenefitsSeasonal employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program. Seasonal employees also benefit from a short‑term incentive compensation aimed at motivating and retaining staff.
Sales Associate I:
Starting Rate $15.00 – DOE
Sales Associate II:
Starting Rate $18.00 – DOE
- Warmly welcome and engage customers as they enter the store.
- Maintain a friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Stay knowledgeable about our range of products and actively promote merchandise to increase customers’ options and enrich the shopping experience.
- Process orders promptly using a POS (point of sale) system.
- Promote special sales, offers, and awareness of the store loyalty program.
- Explain characteristics and origin of art/merchandise to customers.
- Assist with inventory tasks such as stocking, displaying, and pricing.
- Ensure the retail shop is cleaned, fully stocked, and neat in appearance daily.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with training of staff when appropriate.
- Operate the cash register and record all cash receipt transactions.
- Assume all responsibility for the gift shop bank/till.
- Assist with hauling supplies to and from retail locations.
- Pass a background check.
- Goldbelt Tram gift shop experience.
- Passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.
- Ability to handle stress under pressure.
- Ability to learn, understand, and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to build positive and cooperative workplace relationships.
- Cash handling skills.
- Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
- Flexibility to work all shifts, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to provide quality customer service.
- Excellent verbal communication and understanding of written and verbal instructions.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with other employees.
- Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
- Willingness to learn and share knowledge about local history, people, culture, geography, etc., with visitors.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning principles, equipment, and products.
- Detail oriented.
