Security; Seasonal - Security Guard

Overview

Summary:

The Security Guard, working independently or as part of a team,is responsible forthe protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, and others at his/her assigned site.

This position may include activity atan assigned location.

This position is supervised by theSite Lead.

Pay Rate: $21.00-$25.00

• As directed by Supervisor and /or Clientwork directly with the public, conveying information andassistanceeffectivelyon a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Six (6) months of experience dealing with the public.
• Abilityto obtain a Security Guard license issued by the State of Alaska.
• Mustpass a background check.
• Must obtain basic first aid and CPR certification within three(3) months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Six (6) monthsofexperience in a work environment requiring safety and security precautions;i.e.previousmilitary, lawenforcementor security experience.

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs routine patrol of assigned site todeter,detect,and reportsecurity or safety problems, preserve order, and protect property. Patrols may be performed on foot.
• Performs patrol duties according to Goldbelt Security’spolicies and procedures and the Client’s specific instructions.
• Corrects unsafe conditions which may pose riskof injury or death to people atthe site.
• Completes forms and reports which may include Incident Reports, Citizen Arrest Forms, and Criminal Trespass Forms.
• Notifies local Emergency response agencyin the event ofan emergency. Maintains order at the site until their arrival andrendersbasic first aid or CPR as needed.
• Protects the interests and property of Goldbelt Security and the Client.
• Approaches unauthorized persons on site todeterminetheir intentions. Warns persons of rule infractions orviolations, and follows Goldbelt Security Policies and Procedures.
• Calls police or fire department in cases of emergency. Maintains order at the location until their arrival andrendersbasic first aid or CPR as needed.
• Provides assistance tovisitors.
• Performs other incidentaland related duties as assigned.
