Status: Full Time, Temporary
Normal Work Hours and Days: A normal work day consists of 10-12 hours possibly longer depending on workload. Hours and start time will vary depending on workload. Night shift work required as needed.

SummaryResponsible to repair, adjust and maintain equipment and machinery used on construction projects.
Essential Functions- Inspect and evaluate incoming equipment and machines and determine malfunctions and defects.
- Assemble, re‑assemble and disassemble various equipment and machines.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Clean, lube and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain routine equipment maintenance schedule.
- Make adjustments and repairs to equipment and machines, testing and ensuring operating efficiency.
- Maintain log book of all equipment and machine repairs, services, adjustments and work performed.
- Pickup/deliver necessary supplies, materials and equipment as needed.
- Load and unload various equipment and machines from or to delivery truck.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- Assist other mechanics and operations staff as requested.
- Travel to and from various job sites.
Education and/or
Experience:
- A valid driver license
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with repair and maintenance of construction equipment, machinery and tools.
- Three years of job related experience
- Must have own tools up to 3/4” required to repair and maintain heavy equipment.
Preferred:
- Two years vocational training in construction maintenance and five years’ work experience.
- OSHA 10hr. Training
- MSHA certification
- Class A CDL (but not required)
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to use various construction equipment and tools.
- Familiar with Caterpillar, Hitachi, Volvo and Komatsu equipment.
- Proficient in welding and cutting skills.
- Ability to read and follow assembly and instruction manuals.
- Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Knowledge of and ability to repair equipment and follow related procedures.
- Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure.
- Familiar with Cat ET and SIS.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Ability to meet equipment schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to wear protective clothing.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
- Lifting up to 100 lbs for most tasks.
- Standing, walking, bending/stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing frequent.
- Frequent reaching over head or straight ahead.
- Frequent handling, speaking, hearing.
- Occasional twisting, fingertip operations, feeling, talking.
- Occasional operating foot controls and twisting of wrist.
- Exposure to inclement weather, extreme cold (-50°F), extreme heat, wet/humid conditions.
- Frequent noise from equipment.
- Vibration from machinery.
- Possibility of diesel fumes and petroleum products.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electric shock.
- Hazards include crawling onto equipment, high exposed places, explosives, toxic chemicals.
