Pay Range: $25.00 - $31.88
Responsibilities- Assist higher level staff in the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment and components in hospitals, health centers, and other health care facilities.
- Complete work orders for maintenance projects and all assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
- Perform preventive maintenance on systems, equipment, and tools as assigned by the Facility Manager.
- Schedule and document work completion, including collecting data for entry into the PM program.
- Troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, boiler, plumbing, electrical systems, and related equipment.
- Carry out basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair of systems and components.
- Perform journeyman-level carpentry duties such as concrete work, floor coverings, installing doors, building cabinets, hanging items on walls, installing drop ceilings, drywall repair, and painting.
- Operate shop tools and heavy equipment, including table saws, rip saws, jointers, planers, routers, forklift, dump truck, and backhoe.
- Install and repair locks, door closers, create keys, and work with lock cores.
- Maintain parking lots and entrances, performing snow plowing, applying non-slip materials, landscaping, litter removal, lawn care, sign maintenance, and stripe painting.
- Identify, track, and order supply needs, research costs, and provide procurement information for cost-effective purchases.
- Travel to outlying communities to perform work as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.
Work Shift:
OT 8/40
- Education – High School diploma or GED (preferred)
- Certifications and Licenses – Valid driver’s license;
Lockout Tagout online course completed within 90 days;
Eye wash weekly testing competency within 90 days; OSHA 10-hour competency within 90 days;
Life safety 101 competency within 90 days - Experience – No experience required; mechanical aptitude preferred; ability to learn to read codes, standards, regulations, construction/mechanical drawings, OEM manuals, specifications, and conduct basic math calculations
- Skills – Basic knowledge of principles, practices, methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in facility maintenance; basic skills in troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical components; ability to repair mechanical and electrical components; verbal and written communication (emailing or texting); operate small engines, landscaping equipment, chainsaws, snowblowers, hydraulic equipment; walk extensively on uneven terrain or slippery surfaces; lift up to 50 lbs;
safely work on equipment in unstable conditions; climb in and out of dump trucks, bobcats, loaders, forklifts, and pickup trucks; use and maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles used during routine duties - Other Requirements – Ability to perform all essential duties with direction and oversight; maintain professional growth and development through training, seminars, and workshops
