What You Will Be DoingThis position works independently to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain systems in State facilities within current State statutes and codes in the most efficient and economical manner possible, protecting the State's interests, liabilities, and obligations for safety and comfort of building occupants and the public.

Working Environment You Can ExpectThis position is located at the Juneau Hub Maintenance Shop and is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing facility systems across facilities in the Southcoast Region Division of Facilities Services. The role requires occasional field inspections and may involve short‑duration travel by commercial or small aircraft.
Working at DOT&PF offers a challenging environment across remote and urban locations, requiring adaptability and resourcefulness in maintaining critical infrastructure under extreme weather conditions.
Who We Are Looking For- Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools including design, installation, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Problem Solving: Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations.
- Attention to Detail: Is thorough and conscientious when performing work.
- Valid Alaska Driver's License
- Position requires obtaining an Asbestos Abatement Certificate level 111.
