• Operates the specific vehicles used for the project work in their field of specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines.

• Operate power construction equipment, such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, scrapers, motor graders, shovels and derricks.
• May also be responsible for running large pumps or air compressors.
• Drive heavy construction equipment and control their attachments, such as buckets, swing booms, scrapers and blades. Control water and air output of pumps and compressors.
• Know basic maintenance and repair of the equipment operated.
• Perform equipment and materials inspections.
• Must be able to understand specifications and instructions, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of and strict adherence to safety regulations.
• Wear all proper personal protective equipment.
• Travel within Southeast Alaska communities may be required.
• Must be able to work overtime including Saturdays and Sundays. Typical weekly work hours can meet or exceed 60 hours.

• MSHA Certification.
• OSHA 10 hr Certification.
• CPR/First Aid Certification desired.
• Operator must possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) & Valid Medical Card.

• Must be able to pass drug screening and a PAT (physical abilities’ test).
• Exert force of 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly.
