Position OverviewThe Marine Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing marine engines, electrical systems, and boat components. This position works closely with an experienced team to deliver high‑quality repairs and excellent customer service.
The company is open to technicians with transferable skills and strong mechanical aptitude who are interested in building a long‑term career in the marine industry.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair marine engines and boat systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and service work
- Troubleshoot mechanical, fuel, and electrical issues
- Install and service marine accessories and electronics
- Complete engine rigging, setup, and installation work
- Diagnose and repair 12‑volt electrical systems
- Utilize service manuals, diagnostic equipment, and technical resources
- Maintain accurate repair documentation
- Follow shop safety procedures and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Previous technician experience in marine, RV, powersports, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or a related industry
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Marine or outboard engine experience
- Experience with 12‑volt electrical systems
- Fuel system and engine diagnostic experience
- Technical school or manufacturer training
- Boat rigging and electronics installation experience
- Repairs are completed accurately and efficiently
- Problems are diagnosed correctly with minimal rework
- Customers receive quality service and workmanship
- Work is performed safely and professionally
- Technicians continue to grow their skills through training and development
