JOB SUMMARY
The Equipment Operator assists in the planning and coordination of the daily workload, carries out projects, and safely operates a fleet of heavy equipment. The role includes maintaining and repairing roads, drill site pads, and winter maintenance such as snow removal, as well as material handling and organization on field pads.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Report directly to the Roads & Pads Foreman.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on pads and roads to meet specified crown, grade, and elevation standards, including winter snow removal.
- Supply facilities and assist with facility maintenance and construction through equipment support, and provide equipment support for drill rig moves.
- Obtain and use OSHA trenching and excavation certification to perform trenching and excavating activities safely.
- Operate heavy equipment fleet safely and proficiently, including Cat dozers, Volvo front end loaders, Cat compactors, Cat excavators, Kenworth and Peterbilt 5th wheel tractors, Bobcat, Volvo skid steers, 16‑inch Cat blades, low‑boy, flat‑bed and end‑dump trailers, loader‑mounted snow blowers, water trucks, and rock trucks.
- Use rotary lasers and site levels to establish and set grade hubs and stakes.
- Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and time cards.
- Perform pre‑operation inspections, identify equipment malfunctions, fill out maintenance requests, and clean equipment.
- Inspect, adjust, and perform minor equipment repairs.
- Help prepare and maintain inventory of supplies, PPE, equipment, and tools.
- Adhere to safety and environmental priorities as the top focus.
- Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability for safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of three (3) years dirt work experience.
- Class A Commercial driver’s license, hazardous material endorsement, and a current US DOT Medical Card.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- NSTC safety training certification.
- OSHA excavation and trenching certification.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry and in an arctic environment.
