Zach Gordon Youth Services seeks a qualified individual to fill this vital position at Shéiyi X_aat Hít Youth Shelter.

This part‑time role involves street outreach, building supportive connections with at‑risk youth, and collaborating with shelter staff and community partners.

Friday and Saturday evenings from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm with the possibility of additional hours.

Location:

Shéiyi X_aat Hít Youth Shelter.

• Participate in street outreach to connect with unhoused, runaway, or at‑risk youth.
• Provide transportation to the shelter, youth homes, or safe locations as needed.
• Build and maintain supportive relationships through recreational activities and resource provision.
• Assist with communication support for youth and families.
• Collaborate with a Navigator or Advocate from Zach Gordon and Shéiyi X_aat Hít.
• Offer services to youth in their homes and mediate conflict or facilitate restorative conversations with families.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six (6) months of work experience or post‑secondary education in any field.
• Two (2) courses from an accredited college in a human‑related field may substitute for experience.
• Valid driver’s license at the time of appointment and for continued employment.
• At least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
• First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of appointment.

Under Alaska Statute 12.62.400(9), appointment to this position is conditional upon a National Criminal History Report through the FBI. Applicants must submit fingerprints to continue in the hiring approval process. Applicants who materially misrepresent any information will be excluded from consideration or may be dismissed if already employed.
