Overview
We are hiring a Driver for the location of Kensington, Alaska. This full‑time position uses a 3‑week on/3‑week off rotation and requires a minimum of 11 hours daily. Responsibilities include transporting and delivering freight between customer facilities, operating trucks and forklifts, and maintaining vehicle and cargo safety.

Transport and deliver freight to and from customer facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Safety is the first responsibility to employees and customers; the position is safety‑sensitive and requires constant alertness.
- Inspect truck and trailer for defects before, during, and after trips; complete daily vehicle inspection forms.
- Check shipping papers for proper descriptions of commodities, including hazardous materials, weight, packaging, and labeling.
- Maintain telephone or radio contact with Dispatcher.
- Operate forklifts with lifting capacity between 3,000 # and 100,000 # to move freight between equipment, warehouse, and yard locations.
- Load and unload truck/trailer, securing shipments with cargo straps, ropes, lumber, and other equipment; may involve climbing onto flatbeds or containers.
- Assist with maintenance of company property, including sweeping and housekeeping duties.
- Report all safety hazards, incidents, and accidents involving cargo, vehicles, driver, personnel, or the public.
- Maintain records for compliance with state, federal, and corporate rules, including vehicle inspections, hazardous material manifests, and permits.
- Work flexible hours as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of commercial truck driving experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform duties satisfactorily.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills in safety‑sensitive situations.
- Ability to read and interpret bills of lading, tariffs, delivery receipts, military documents, procedure manuals, safety rules, and operating instructions.
- Mathematical proficiency: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and adapt to change.
- Current Class “A” Alaska Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Materials endorsement.
- Acceptable driving record according to company standards.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Card or Certificate.
- TWIC card recommended.
- Forklift certification for operations with lifting capacities between 3,000 # and 100,000 #.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear during daily activities.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch while inspecting equipment.
- Use hands, arms, and fingers to steer, manipulate controls, lift, transport, and secure freight.
- Operate keyboards, phones, fax machines, radios, and other office equipment.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, or extend arms around equipment.
- Must possess near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- May involve tractor driving and warehouse tasks.
- Workspace near moving mechanical parts; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and humid conditions; occasional high or precarious places.
- Risk of electric shock in some areas.
- Noise level ranges from moderate to loud.
- Outside weather exposure, including incremental Arctic cold and extreme heat and cold.
