The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Southcoast Region Highways and Aviation/M&O is looking for an Equipment Operator Foreman 1 in Juneau to help us Keep Alaska Moving! Base salary information:
Equipment Operator Foreman 1: $33.59 / hourly - OT Eligible
What you will be doing:
- Lead and supervise a maintenance station, managing work schedules, priorities, and safety practices for a team of up to 10 employees.
- Inspect highway assets, determine maintenance needs, and oversee complex maintenance and repair activities, ensuring accurate documentation in the AGILE program.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the traveling public and review proposed design plans for highway, dock, and float projects in the area.
- Coordinate equipment repair and servicing with State Equipment Fleet staff, ensuring timely maintenance and recommending replacements as needed.
- Perform hands-on highway maintenance, including snow and ice control, pavement and drainage work, brushing, sign and guardrail repair, and related tasks using a variety of heavy equipment.

Minimum qualifications:
Class A Commercial Driver's License and qualified to operate all equipment at the duty station. Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work. Two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of highways or airports.
Special note:
Some positions may require a First Aid, ETT, CPR, or First Responder certification.
Some positions require Hazardous Materials training and American Traffic Safety Services Association training.
